My little own version of the MREV lol. =) GREAT RESULTS!!

I finally got around to put in the non-rev up lower plenum on my Rev-up motor. Gosh I love the extra HP and Torque!! All I did was trim down the runner 1 and 2 (see pics below). I was going to get it ported but I hardly ever have time so I decided to just put it without that.

BTW I only have a Z-tube and I doubt I gained anything from that maybe 1-2 hp, mainly got it for the sound.
So my comparison is a good one coming from stock.

My ghetto way of testing it was racing a car before and after. lol

Raced a friend's Trans-am V8 (LT1), Manual, with intake and straight pipe exhaust.

Before the Mod: We raced about 3-4 times from a roll. 40mph to 100/110mph. As soon as we started he would jump one car (all the v8 torque) and then it would stay that way until the end of the race. All races he beat me by one car length.

After the Mod: Two days later, same car, same driver, raced again. About 4 times, with the same results! This time as soon as we started I stayed with him (he no longer got the hit and jumped infront). 40-100mph ,
I pulled 2.5 cars on him and kept pulling but we slowed down(100-110mph).

So I gained a total of 3.5 cars from this mod!!! Very Impress and really feel the difference, mainling the torque!!

I got a HR Y Pipe, that's going in next.

Time for me to do go to the track after the HR Y pipe.

Stock non-rev up lower plenum, pics before flatting out runners 1 and 2:

After trimming down runners 1 and 2:

How much did you take off? I'm sure there is a specific size that is optimal. It just seems like you didnt take very much off.

Who was the guy that did a port and polish on his whole engine. He got like 12 Hp(mustang dyno), so I would say 1-2hp from this is a pretty decent guess.

lol I highly doubt I only got 1-2 hp from it. 1-2 hp wouldn't have made that much of a difference in a race, infact it wouldn't have made a difference at all. My z-tube probably got 1-2 hp, as i didn't even feel a difference with that , just mainly soud.n

I took off a goood amount, it's hard to tell in those pics. Regardless the main HP gain is just from the non-rev up plenum.

Alot of the gain felt is from the replacement of the manifold. The runner shave on 1 and 2 is just one of the many little mods that make up the MREV.

What other mods make it a MREV?

I am having my old non revup lower worked right now, shaved 1 and 2 runners and polished. What else did MD do to get power out of this plenum?

Dont know if its me you are talking about or no but i alter everything on the whole upper side of the heads. Extensive decking and porting. And made good power on both rev and non rev motors. All in the 268-280 hp range (mustang dyno).

^ Whats up Mike
Mike did that plenum job for me and I gained 13WHP from the process. It was on HP logics mustang dyno. Also my non-revup made power all the way to the top, it did not taper off. The overall cost was less than a spacer/ and lower collect from MD also the ports are matched for that good ole' straight flow.

P.s. This setup made more power than my spacer.

Do you have a copy of your dyno sheet? I'm a non rev also, I plan on doing a before and after dyno within the next 2wks when I receive mine.

What were your final numbers and what other mods? Sorry for the thread jack. OP take it to the track do you have any runs before this mod?
