Thanks for the dyno sheet. PPE wouldn't tell me how long their primaries are, they se their own collector with a 15 degree merge angle similar to burns.

I know PPE and FI were going at it alittle on 370z.com at which is best. I'll look for the link http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...e-headers.html

^higher one is the LTH of course. Don't look solely at peak power but look at the massive torque gains across the entire RPM band. That is the biggest benefit of the LTH IMO over shorties that really only offer top end power that is rarely used. Yes it's on a DE

^ a 4.2L DE that is. I received the headers today I will make another thread with more pics in a few days. In the 1st pic the headers are turned upside down to show off the PPE logo on the underside.

Momentum headers are good but expensive for 8-10 hp. The red line is after the ported plenum and 1/2 spacer

Your numbers for a DE non revup 5at didnt seem like it made much of a difference with headers. I am a non rev up 5at as well and comparing my dyno numbers to yours arent far off. I have my dyno sheet but dont have a scanner but my numbers are 265whp and 237tq after tune. The baseline was 258whp and 236tq with all the mods. My mods are k&n filter/z-tube, MD 5/16th spacer, Berk HFC, M2 performance HR y-pipe, and a Nismo CBE.

I have no work done on my plenum or have headers and I'm still trying to wrap my head around headers and if its worth it. I know there are lots of variables to our dyno numbers such as temp, elevation lvl, humidity, tuner etc.

I have read that the best headers for our DE motors are the HR headers. Its somewhere on this forum proving gains over aftermarkets.

Dss, headers look good and I like that dual bung with one non fouler. Hoping that everything will fit nicely for you and awaiting that thread review from you. Good luck! That freakimg steering rod can be a PITA though.

Headers give gains but mostly in the top end a rpm most never use unless you race. I drag race alot so every little bit of extra hp helps.

LTH give you both more tq and hp in the mid range and top end. I think the flanges on the HR headers have to be changed to fit a DE but they are cheaper than aftermarket headers.

I got my current headers installed for only $300 which is cheap. Install price and difficulty is what drives people away from installing headers.

I think if our headers were easy to install and remove like a Honda mostly everyone would have them.

What type of dyno was you tuned on? Those numbers are good.

I see. Thanks for the clear up on the headers. I was tuned on a dynojet just like you. There is another thread that was recently made talking about headers or exhaust.. Something around there and a guy from z1performance confirmed losing about 10hp in the mid but gain about 6hp on the top end.

That is cheap! What a steal! I work at a autoshop so install isnt a problem. Just the mix reviews of the headers and the prices.

The flange would have to be changed? the flange that connects the the cat?

^I believe the HR exhaust manifold actually lines up just fine, but the problem is that the stud hole location on the center primary of the headers are on opposite sides. You can remove the studs from the block and put them in the right position or you can drill out holes in the HR headers. The first one is far more simpler.
