Fast Intentions Long Tube Headers

I found this on myg37.com. http://myg37.com/forums/intake-and-e...teaser-14.html These must also fit all previous gens since stock headers and cats are interchangeable.

Stock manifolds and stock cats = 37 LBS

Stock manifolds and F.I. HFC's = 28 LBS

F.I. long tube headers = 21 LBS

Very pretty. I wonder how much they will cost and how they would compare ( bang for the buck ) to the ebay long tubes which are hella cheap and look pretty good as well.

Here is something a lot closer to home, meaning made for the VQ35DE. I just got these the other day from SGM. They are finally starting to become available.

They are only $900

Those look even better. Been following SGM for a while. How big is the collector? 3"?

Still not bad. I remember them saying each collector is 3" but 2.5" is just as good.

What's the price? The FI ones above are $900 which is a really good price.

You can order them with 3" SPD collectors at no extract cost if you want but for my car that is way too big. That is why I went with 2.5".

Nice gabe!! Do you install those in pieces? Also didn't you just buy the new MD ART pipes? Are you going to compare LT's to shortys with ART pipes since they won't work with the LT's?

$900 isn't bad considering the quality looks amazing and it's probably made in the USA ( don't know if the seller is also the manufacturer or if it's made locally so correct me if I'm wrong ).

The ebay ones are obiously made in china which is OKAY at best but for $250 shipped...it's kinda hard to ignore. I'll probably be buying a set soon enough to try them out.

I was at Tony's shop a few weeks ago. I never thought those long tube headers I saw laying around were for VQ production! They definitely look beautiful

The real question is how would such long tube headers compare to:

1) Stock headers + Test Pipes

2) Aftermarket Headers + Test Pipes

And to make it more interesting, stock/aftermarket headers + ART Pipes too.

Well, F-Body guys LOVE long tube headers and while I know it's a different engine I could imagine that their positive aspects should be the same regardless.

As soon as I get my tax returns I plan on getting a cat back and the ebay long tubes and dyno them...we'll see how that goes.

Dsskyline, you are right. I do have the ART pipes as well that I am bolting up to my Tomei V2 shorties. I bought them in order to compare it to the SGM Longtubes.

Installing the LTH, you can bolt up each primary at a time.

I'll wait for those results since I have headers already. I wonder how much different it will be in gains. The only major difference is your engine, but still a good reference.

Thanks for performing these tests for us.

Sorry for the thread jack.
