Aftermarket Exhaust, Borla vs Nismo?

Hi All,

I'd like to hear your experiences with either Borla True Dual or Nismo S Tune exhausts...

Differences from stock exhaust... any drawbacks?

Thanks for your input.

Cheers!

I've had the Borla exhaust on my 2k4 G coupe for 5 years and still love it. It has a deeper sound than the stock exhaust.

Thats tough, I love the borla but the nismo is more my taste -(I have the nismo full exhaust w/y-pipe along with test pipes)
check a few of my videos on my youtube in my signature, the sound clips are pretty accurate. Hope it helps.

I've had 5 exhaust systems on my coupe, 2 were sponsored so I'm not totally nuckingfuts. The third system was the Borla dual cat-back, I didn't like how it was made or sounded. The quality is no where close to Stillen or HKS, if I live to be 100 I'll never consider Borla for anything I'm driving....

I see, never had someone dislike borla until now. But that's good to know. How about the performance gain? It seems like Nismo exhaust should have less power gain since Borla has true dual cat system.

Best dual system I've found is HKS and it looks as great as it sounds.... After 5 systems that was my final choice!

If you want power motordyne shockwave is the way to go but imo the sound isn't very appealing. But really the power difference btwn borla and nismo will be negligible. What's 2 hp on a 300hp car? I'd get Nismo, sounds sweet stock but amplified and also FI resonated test pipes.

HKS looks the sickest tho.

I love the sound of the nismo. I was under the impression that they weren't made for the G and some customization was needed to make if fit? I went with a invidia cat back..

It needs a 6in extension, and at that point the tips are tucked 2in.

Word. Mine has the 6inch extension but as you can see I have no tips tucked in because even after installing the extenders, I cut off the tips and wellded them out an additional 2-2.5 inches so they fit flush with my rear diffuser.

here's a quick old picture my coupe for reference:

I'm thinking it's due to extensions perhaps?
