I wanted to post a quick update for those of you who are considering Stillens. I know when I purchased Stillen was a big name- and in drifting through the forums I found a lot of people ragging on them- as I have in this thread.

I am posting an ammendment to my original complaints.

I had a lot of faith in the shop that installed my system- and as a result had pretty much disregarded the possibility that they could have fouled. As it turns out- perhaps they hadn't fouled per se...

Just so many of you don't think you were wasting suggestions on me- the way this came about was during my hunt for a shop that could do the custom work for me and install the necessary resonators.

The shop guys wanted to get it on the hoist first and see what was going on.

The rasp problem originated from a significant leak in the extension pipe before the Stillen resonators. These were clamped and were, on visual inspection with someone who knew more about it than me, leaking horribly. He pointed out that the noise from a leak like that would drive a person crazy (it was!) It was REALLY obvious- probably due in part from running rather rich with the tune I had done to accommodate other mods.

Instantly, his welder tacked it and we tried again. Awesome. Much closer to what I expected... in fact... I wouldn't change it.

So for those of you looking at Stillen- my apologies for leading you astray. Just make sure those joints get welded- it's not worth the "rastle" to just have them clamped.

i dont know if this is for a sedan or a coupe .. but i'd probably try to sell the exhaust, or better yet, trade it for someone with a fujitsubo.. then try to do the same with the HFCs .. sell 'em or trade for FI resonated cat pipes. Those are the only non-raspy exhaust products ive heard so far.

Don't mean to steal your thread or anything, but do HFC's smell real bad? I had test pipes before and I couldn't stand the smell of it. How do the HFC compare? Thanks in advance guys
