Exhaust all of sudden has DEEPER tone . . .
Well, not sure what happened, but ever since I took my car on a trip to the Englishtown NHRA SuperNationals last weekend, my exhaust tone has got a much deeper growl to it.
Question is why?
I briefly checked for exhaust leaks, but couldn't really find anything. Only other thing i can think of is i blew one of my hi-flo cats out.
Anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions.
I love the new sound, but i'm sure i'm not getting it for free . . .

how many miles and what type of HFC's are they?
I just installed Berk's and a MD xyz about 3 weeks ago and noticed that the exhaust note has a really deep growl in the last few days - perfect but I didn't think there was any problem. I updated to an Osiris tune this last weekend as well and thought that had contributed to the change in exhaust note - not loud but deep. I do get a small bit of rasp at startup but it seems that when the exhaust (cats?) heat up, about 2 -3 minutes, it goes away.
englishtown? were you at the race where Neal Parker was killed?
hate to see those things happen when so much preparation and safety considerations are involved these days.

Yeah, i was at the race with my 5 year old son when Neal Parker was killed. Its purely speculation at this time, but from what i'm hearing and what I saw it may be that he had a heart attack during the run. He hit the end at full throttle, never hit the brakes, and never deployed the chute. Of course, thats just speculation and we'll have to wait until the NHRA and NJSP do their full investigation before any facts are known for sure.
Yeah, it is very sad to see something like that happen - such a tragedy.
Heres a photo of Neil's car (Red Excavator) just at the start of his tragic run.
