Intake & Exhaust Questions and info regarding various aftermatket exhaust systems for the G35 (Headers,Y-Pipes, and Cat-Back Systems)

Are the fumes from the ART pipes really that bad??

Are the fumes from the ART pipes really that bad??

just wondering cause im about to purchase them??
Anyone with experience with these would be helpfull

it's pretty stinky.. but you kinda get used to it... but there is definitely no masking the smell...

lol well what do you expect? it to be drastically different from other test pipes because it looks different and gets different power?

You can always consider inserting HFC into the pipes. Or you can insert cats into the Y pipe primaries. There are a number of options for compact cats that most exhaust shops would charge only a $100 a side to weld in.

does it smell just like the exhaust from old cars, that have no cats?

motordyne has some type of cat thing I think??? I wouldn't bother putting a regular cat back in if you are going to buy the ART pipes, I would rather just do hiflow cats then

nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I love the ART pipes, one of the best mods ever.

They work with the HKS exhaust no problem. Sound really nice too

I guess I have to have them to know how bad it is. But I thing I might just go with some HFC's for now, or do those have bad fumes also?

The smell is not that bad, you get used to it after a while.
