Stillen intake or 06 rev-up airbox for Uprev tune?

I spent a few hours searching over the forum about this.

It seems like the conclusion is that the 06 rev-up box gives more HP/TQ at lower rpm that is usable, while the Stillen have gains at high rpm and dropping low.

All in all, I think rev-up is better as it offers more usable power.

However, since I am about to get an up-rev osiris tune, I am wondering if Stillen intake will now be worth to get? What are your thoughts?

I have a 06 coupe 6MT

My mods:

Mrev2
5/16 MD Plenum spacers
Still Z-tube
Exoticspeed R1 PWR-Si
HR Y-pipe
Sean's grounding wires

[I am looking for a quiet drivable / daily car, so no testpipes headers and HFC :P]

Thanks!

I don't think the difference inbetween intakes (good ones) really make a difference tuning-wise.

I'd say get the JWT or Stillen and dyno it yourself at the dyno against the REVUP airbox.

You already have the REVUP airbox. If you don't like the results, you can always sell the JWT or Stillen to get some of your money back.

I know you said you didn't want HFC's, but that's the biggest restriction in the exhaust system. You'll get more out of a tune with aftermarket HFC's or test pipes.

where are you located? Who's doing your tune?... reason I ask is if local, I'll bring my Stillen w/pop charger and do back-to-back install dyno (on your car) if you're interested... I was going to a while back and decided I didnt want to bother with it (sticking with Stillen) - but since you'll already be on dyno, it only takes a few minutes.

From what I've been researching, it wouldn't be fair to dyno the Stillen intake with the hood open as it does not reflect normal driving circumstances.

dynoing with the hood down doesnt reflect normal driving circumstances either (not many shops have fans that blow 70+mph).

Dynos are most useful for tuning and determining gains (neither requires actual driving conditions).

I have nothing on my car that I dont think is beneficial (other than the pig heavy rotors, but there are no options right now).

I seriously intended to run OEM airbox with revup back half (wouldnt have spent time and money painting it if I didnt plan to use it)... after one week I swapped boxes to get repainted and realized the setup I have now (Stillen/pop) gave notable better acceleration (havent put the revup box back on since).

I dont profess that this will be the case for everyone - as I firmly believe that performance is a sum of all mods combined... other combinations might work well too - but for what I have, the set-up I'm using now is what works best.
