Lost of reading, and I can say that I learned a lot, I just hope I can find somebody In south Miami that can Tune my MAF well, Somebody PM if you know anyone

I think K&N is just like so many other companies out there today, they built their name long ago b/c other filter companies used the cheapest materials they could. Now K&N is riding the riding the wave they built. Meanwhile other companies out there have caught up if not surpassed K&N in quality filters. Now K&N just has the money to market the hell out of their products. I have a R2C intake (too bad they did not participate), the filter material on my R2C is way better than the K&N drop in that I did have, also the R2C is a simple blow out the filter with no soaps, water, or oils to put back into the filter media. I have always thought that any filter that uses oil in the filter media actually decreases the flow of air. But again this is all just my opinion.

I contacted R2C they said they already had people do independent dyno's, when I asked to see the results I was not provided with any.

Yeah that sucks. I feel like I gained hp especially in the upper rpm ranges. The R2C does make the G sound a lot better. I wonder why they wouldn't provide you with anything.

I feel they knew that their intake would perform on par with the rest that I tested so they would rather have the mystery out there instead of me proving it doesn't gain.

if a tube wasnt provided with the intake a z-tube was used. the stillen intake I received didnt have the tube so I used the z-tube

great thread and test, props to you for doing this. it verifies what i have been saying for years. unless an engine is significantly modified (aggressive cams, larger valves, etc) the stock intake tubing is adequate for any platform, whether it be on a vq or ls based motor

Just because the VQ reacts this way is basis to assume the same rule applies to motors as vastly different as the LS?
