3 Tanks after Z-tube and Afe filter Review

So I got the Ztube and the Afe dry filter for my 07 G coupe 6MT. I really have not noticed that big of a sound change, I hear a little something around 3-5K. Performance I would say maybe like 1-3 hp tops nothing noticable ( so if you're thinking about intake that will give u power this is not for you). However one great thing about this combo that is great is before the 2 mods I use to get about 15-16 mpg avrage and I usually drive like a psycho but now days with the same driving style same everything I get about 17-19 mpgs. I have had this combo for about a month now maybe a little less and I am loving it. I would say I can't wait for my exhaust and spacer with the Mrev then I think this combo will actually show more power then is actually is giving me right now.

Here are some pics I took after the install and one this morning

I like the 07 headlights.

Intake =/= power.

Nice write-up! I heard a little more rumble from the Z-tube, but no power increase.

Thanks. Hope this helps ppl with their decisions and good luck forgot to tell you guys about the install too me about 10 mins probably less. Really easy, just make sure not to damage anything when u remove the old intake and put in the Ztube because I heard some guys have damaged a few things. Good luck to all.

Looks real good. Is this the air filter that never needs replacing or oil, just cleaning? Where did you get it?

If you are getting more MPG that means that this filter is letting less air in the your old filter.

Good writeup bro. I had installed my Z-tube and K&N filter this morning too. It took no longer than 20 minutes. I had the battery unplugged but have not been able to successfully reset the ECU. I will probally have to log on some miles first. Not too much of a sound increase for me. I kinda liked my G-tube setup more. It was louder for some reason with the MREV2, Spacer, and Berk HFC setup I had going. Now, I hear more of a hissing noise when stepping on the gas pedal. It does pick up rather quickly on acceleration giving it more of a smooth acceleration. I also notice some loss in low end torque however this may be due to not reset the ECU so it can relearn.

Has anybody on here with the Z-tube installed noticed a change in the stock sound? I have heard that the Z-tube gives more of a growl noise rather than the stock purr sound. I just bought myself a Stillen Z-tube but do not want the stock sound to be changed.

Its a very slight change in sound while driving. Nothing earth shattering. The VQ still sounds the same.

Normally you won't notice a major sound change until you nail the throttle. I've never had just the z-tube alone, one of my first mods was Stillens CAI with their large K&N filter. Above 3500RPMs getting on the freeway or passing someone that's a scary sound, in a very good way!

I noticed the exhaust note seemed to be a tad bit louder after installing the z tube.

Will ANY light come on for that matter? Does the car function just as it did before the test pipe installation?
