z-tube install w/o bolting bracket down
I just installed a 350z tube on my 06 6mt g35 coupe. To get a good angle to fit both sides of the z-tube, I had to leave the bracket till last. However the mounting bracket tab is about 1cm from the hole, and when I move the bracket to sit flush, it puts more stress on the rubber accordian intake. Also the sharp bracket is very close to the intake manifold and it's sealing gasket, and I could see how it may cut into it..........................
bottom line guys, do you REALLY need to bolt the bracket in place? I realize its to help keep the intake stable when the engine moves a bit but isn't the tube held in place well enough?

You may be alright without bolting that tube down but a better idea would be to take off and start over. Look at the parts and angles, my guess is you'll be able to install it as intended without putting stress on any parts....
Pictures would help!!

Ok I got it haha and am almost embarrassed how easy it was. I was just worried that too much stretch will put stress on the accordian piece and may tear...but I loosened both clamps and rotated the tube towards the engine and the mounting tab lined up
