It may have been consuming oil before you bought the car.

Although revup engines (2005-2006 6MT) have this issue much more commonly, there are non-rev guys with similar issues.

ART pipes are not going to be the cause of your oil consuming but will not hide anything either. Also, after 1000 miles they should be broken in. You shouldn't be smelling the new pipes at all anymore.

If the rings are failing then you can just keep adding oil until it becomes too much, or rebuild the heads.

rebuilding the head will not solve a piston ring problem...

im talking about an extraneus situation where the pipes arent completely clean and are still burning something .... 1000 miles isnt really enough to consider an exhaust set up completely broken in especially since OP did an entire breather modification in one go. the car needs at least 3k to relearn everything. you need to get that oil change done! check for metal filings or flakes anything out of the ordinary, also it shouldnt come out sludgey your oil should flow almost as good as the day it went in.

hydrazine: have you seen anything similar to this with a fresh install? I really doubt the oil consumption but blueish smoke isnt really a good thing? Do you guys use any products on the pipes prior to shipping? im sure you clean them up a little after manufacturing maybe hes still burning off some chemicals.
There is grease that is used inside the exhaust tubing during the mandrel bending process. It burns out quickly. ~100 miles.

it doesn't need 3000 miles to relearn everything. reset the ECU and it will relearn everything very quickly.

Ok talked to a few mechanics I work with and the checked it out and turns out the o2 sensor was rubbing on the ground and burnt thru. They checked the code my car was throwing and that's exactly what it was. Now 20 miles later no smoke. Thanks for all the help guys it will be very useful if I ever do have a problem burning oil.
