Test Pipes and Muffler Only

Test Pipes and Muffler Only
I just installed my strup test pipes today and im not a fan of the rasp noise there making if i were to install only a muffler and leave the y pipe and the pipe between the muffler and y pipe would I still here the rasp or would that get rid of most of it?
