Smoking Exhaust Manifold
Smoking Exhaust Manifold
Hey guys, I recently bought a 2003 G35 manual about 2/3 weeks ago. It drives like a charm and is the fastest car I've had so far. I'm a decent driver, I just lack experience like many of you have.
I noticed today that after giving it high revs my exhaust manifold started smoking under the car. There was alot of smoke coming from the engine, and it turns out the thing you use to check how much engine oil is in your car wasn't proporely in place. I adjusted that and after another drive, the smoke halted coming from the engine and was only coming from underneath the car. I'm not sure whats causing this but it concerns me. Any ideas to what it could be?

If its spilled oil the smoke will eventually go away on its own.
However, you may want to bring your car to the carwash to clean out the engine bay and under carriage of any excess oil.
Also important. Check your oil level now to make sure its where its supposed to be. Who knows how much came out when it was leaked out of the dip stick tube.
