Angry M2 HR y-pipe problem

So I just recently installed the M2 HR style y-pipe. For some reason after installing the pipe on the vehicle.. the car starts up weird and gives A LOT of vibration in the cabin. The sound that I am experiencing with the pipe is somewhat like a clog catalytic converter if anyone knows how that sounds.. or another good description is like when there is a lil bit of water in the pipes making it kinda gurgle and not sound like the original exhaust at all.

Mind you I am pairing this with my Nismo catback exhaust and I have Berk HFC. I put back on my original HR ypipe and the symptoms went away.. Can anybody chime in and help me with this.. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

i have a m2 ypipe on my coupe, no issues here... used it on the r nismo exhaust last year when a member on the forum sold me the exhaust system with damaged nismo ypipe and it worked just fine... removed the m2 ypipe several times this year to instal topspeed exhaust and rart test pipes... works and looks great still...

Hmm. Maybe I have a defective one bc its real bad. The sound I am experiencing causes the entire cabin to vibrate nasty! Do you have HFC or TP??

when installing mine.. i had the same issue. the left Y was hitting the bottom of the driver seat. vibration was terrible.
took a BFH to the under body where the pipe was rubbing.. problem solved.

GL

stock headers
coupe mid
HKS axle back

the problem with 350z exhaust is that with the nismo extension 8" is still too short so your whole system is up high... ie possible rubbing... but otherwise the ypipe is awesome for the price... so much flow... great

Whats BFH??

I was thinking about putting something between the under body and the left y-pipe but I was afraid of it melting or burning.

op do you have the r nismo with 3" piping or the oem 2.5" piping nismo, cuz that can make a difference in the rasp sound too

Create some space between the body and pipe.

I got the S tune Nismo catback exhaust. Its a 3'' bc I measured the outlet of the m2 ypipe and the midpipe connection and it was 3'' as well.

Big Functional Hammer.... I dont really want to do that... but it that comes up as the last resort I guess I could do that...

wow long time from having a nismo, stune nismo is the 3", you should have that much rasp sound or vibration, get under there and find out i guess what's rubbing... i never had the issue but i can say the 350z exhaust will sit higher than the g35 coupe exhausts tho

Yeah I had the nismo for a while now. Added some berk hfc and I think the berks made it really raspy. The m2 just made it more deeper sounding.. the vibration I figured out was it hitting the underpanel of the car... bad fitment/welding of the y-pipe =(

op check make sure that the ypipe can be upside down flipped, oem ypipe does have an up and down side, same with aftermarket ypipes, which r harder to differentiate but that may solve your problems as when i install test pipes the proper up/down side make install easier... fyi

Yeah I made sure it was right side up. Still fitment issue and knocking to the under body.

was this on a g coupe or g sedan? I was wanting to get the megan y pipe or the m2. But after hearing about this, I'm leaning more towards the megan =/
