I have a similar code. I was running a bad motor that was burning oil and misfiring for far too long and now with a new motor the code won't go away and my mileage isn't as great as it should be. (under 20mpg on the highway)

Can I ask how much did it cost to put in art pipes? What is the cheapest route? Used CATs?

thanks, Aztec! Hubster just told me he also replaced the air filter. Got any ideas what could cause a P0430 with that? AND, I also remembered the tech who gave me the code at Autozone mistakenly said I had a "Q" Infinity line instead of g35. Would that make any difference in the code he pulled?

Well, I thought the 0430 code was gone when I almost ran out of gas and it went away, and my husband admitted he hadn't closed the gas tank lid till it clicked when he put gas in (and that's when it came on). So I thought the problem was gone for a while, but the code came back on. Had it cleared after it didn't go out at next empty tank/refuel, but it came back on. I took it to a mechanic who said because the post oxygen sensor (downstream, I think?) read the same as the front one, it had to be the catalytic converter. Is that true?

That's a sensor code, I kept clearing it until I got smart and replaced the sensor. Doesn't mean your OE cats are wasted....Gary

o2 sensors should generally be replaced in pairs. If the downstream sensor is still mirroring the upstream (which your mechanic can check) after the change then it is time for a cat replacement. In summary, if I were in you position I would replace those driver side sensors and be prepared for the possibility of needing to replace the cats.
