Mrev2, Tune, or Transgo kit?
Man I went to 4 different shops here in Waco TX (Baylor University) and 3 shops turned me down on the transgo shift kit..
They said something about how customers always come back down the line saying it messed up there transmission
Anyone have any insights or thoughts on this?
Another place charged me 187 without fluids but with fluids 260. Sound like a good deal. He stated hes done it on several Z's before and even said there was a switch lever that he can adjust the fluids coming in and make it shift harder than usual.
I passed the deal bc I felt sketched out and plus I had to look up reviews on the shop.
Getting it installed by my friend sexyrob anyways! It will be a learning experience as well

Oh and I wasnt talking about the Kinetix SSV manifold. I already know those are better for FI guys but then again sexyrob strapped that on his Vortech SC and it didnt really make power but shifted the band as well as on the NA he borrowed it off from.
I was speaking in terms of the Kinetix V plenum.
Thats the upper part of the manifold which just replaces our stock manifold but still using the lower collector. While the Kinetix SSV replaces both lower and upper collector.

I got quoted 183.76 without fluids at a local shop.
But I actually took to a high school friend (sexyrob) of mine that did it for me.
It was a good learning experience and now I can say I know how to do it too but def very tedious work.

That labor quote seems cheap... I talked to my local transmission shop ( I'm in Canada) and they estimated 4-4.5 hours labor @ $95/hr plus fluid... do the math including the kit itself at $250 plus taxes and I'm at $850...
In your opinion is this mod worth $850

95 an hour is expensive. The shop I took it to was 65 an hour. But he quoted me less time since he's done it a few times.
If I remember reading correctly, some members did it for around 300 which seems to be the normal price.
All together I spent around 5-600 on this kit for install and part. 5-6 seems more reasonable.
The shifts are awesome and is a night and day difference. I drive my sister G35 sedan that doesnt have the kit and its so boring and sluggish compared to my g35 coupe. It snaps into gear when I get on it and drives normal when Im cruising.
