ART Pipes Ver.2.1 w/stock exhaust

Hi guys, I'm just wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to eliminate the newly introduced rasp in my exhaust system. The system started with a Megan Racing Y-pipe connected to the Megan Racing OE-RS system. Recently I added the Motordyne ART Pipes. This introduced an intolerable amount of rasp into the system, as I liked the power gains made by the ART pipes (and I'm lazy and it was easier to remove the Megan components then it was to remove the Motordyne) I decided to remove the Megan system and convert the remaining exhaust back to stock. Anyway long story short there is still substantial rasp above 2500 RPM and I'm wondering if the solution to this is the Motordyne resonated XYZ pipe. Any information would be greatly appreciated, also here is a video of the rasp, you can only really hear the rasp on back down, but rest assured when at a constant rev, under load, the rasp is there constantly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUN42...ature=youtu.be

Thanks guys.

From my understanding HFC's rasp more than the ART pipes and also there have been plenty of reports of the HFC of all different brands cracking and being essentially useless.

Thanks for the useless post. OP the resonated XYZ should eliminate almost all of your rasp and will make your exhaust sound sweet. Or you could look at adding the Tanabe medallion exhaust. No rasp or drone and is pretty quiet, I'm just not a fan of the single tip muffler.

^^ Lol I was going to mention something about his post as well but decided not to. I had actually previously looked into getting the said Tanabe exhaust but my feelings are the same as yours, I'm not a fan of the single tip, prefer to keep the "stock" type look. I think I will try the resonated XYZ and see where that gets me, thanks for the info.

I've heard the Tanabe with ART pipes and it sounded pretty raspy to me. You may have better luck with the XYZ pipe with resonator attachment.

That is what I just ordered, the new setup when it gets in for a trial run will be as follows, MD ART pipes Ver 2.1, MD resonated XYZ, then stock y back for now until I make my mind up and either a coupe mid or aftermarket mid to stock muffler.

my apologies for the thread jack.

I'm running Berk's HFC on a stock exhaust and I have a tolerable amount of rasp. What's getting to me is that tinging or "something loose" noise on the falling RPMs. I know that's common and there's nothing really to combat it except for an aftermarket exhaust system but do ART pipes on a stock system eliminate that noise?

If so, my Berks will be on sale soon!

If this guy has rasp like I did and installs a resonator that thing is gonna sound like a fart can. What Hi flo cats have you run before? or have you only run stock cats

The MD HFC and more so the MD resonator for the XYZ will help cut out the rasp.

Alright, finally installed the MD Resonated XYZ, has eliminated almost all the rasp, the only noise left is the hiss from the ART Pipes but I fully expected this and can tolerate it. Thanks for the help again guys.
