Problems with K&N?
I have an 05 G35 coupe, I put in a drop in K&N filter and about a month later my mass flow sensor went bad.. Infinity told me that the oil from the K&N filter may have been the problem. They replaced the sensor and put a stock filter back in.. I had never heard of this before but I've been afraid to put the K&N back in.. Has anyone ever heard of a K&N filter damaging the MFS??

Yes its common actually. However it doesn't damage the MAF sensor it just makes it dirty. It is easily rectified by cleaning the sensor with a couple sprays from a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner which you can pick up at your favorite auto parts store. I would bet your old one would have worked fine had it been cleaned. Sorry you had to pay for a new one. I clean mine every couple oil changes since its so easy to do.

Too quotable, lol
But i know what you mean.
Best to use dry flow filters these days, K&N stuff is from times of old, so to speak, when they didn't use MAFs.
I know Apexi make a dry flow, that'll be my next filter, currently running a Purolator.
