Looks like a resonated straight pipe. There are "cells" in any catalytic converter like below. Are your pipes hollow all the way through?

That's not an HFC. If you could put a stick through the pipe, it's not an HFC. HFC will either look like the pic shown or have a spun metallic core (looks almost like a loose roll of foil). But there will always be a core of some kind. Those aren't gutted either, as the other posters mentioned, it's a resonated test pipe. The holes are part of the sound suppression.

These are the pipes so they're not gutted?

You can't tell from the outside since a resonator and hfc shell look about the same. But the inside of yours shows a resonator. HFC inside should look like this (not my pic, but my Berk HFC looks the same). See how there is material there, that's the catalyst. If you don't have it, it's not an HFC. And yours isn't technically "gutted" either. Gutted implies that you took an HFC and knocked the core out which people do if it fails. Yours is a resonated test pipe. If you don't have to worry about emissions in your area, run it.

So I basically got gipped? Sold a hfc without a catalyst?

No, they sold you a resonated test pipe. If they told you it was a high flow cat then they either lied to you or are an idiot and don't know the difference

Being uninformed/ignorant is NOT the same as an idiot.

If you have never seen a cat before, how would you know.

BTW, please don't take off your cats, it makes you car stink something awful.

Yeah I guess I was uninformed but after looking at the post on this site and seeing over 5 users say "great price on these hfc glws" I guess It was my mistake for believing the seller

https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...est-pipes.html Says at first they are test pipes then a user posts two pictures of the hfc and test pipes then says based on pics they are hfc along with other users, this shouldn't be my fault but there's nothing I can do, at least I get more gains

Its not your fault, the seller is an idiot for not knowing what he had and falsely advertised. If he's not willing to do anything then he's a POS and should be banned. I'm assuming you bought these before October 23'rd since thats when the truth came out in the FS thread.

I've had them for a while just thought they were regular hfc, then about a week ago I started thinking they were Gutted, regardless I got them for around 200 bucks and give more gains then hfc, I can't really expect much
