Borla or Injen cat back ???

Before you tell me this was asked many times before, ive searched the message base and couldnt gather a satisfactory conclusion, so please help if you can

Im looking to purchase a cat back exhaust system on my 2005 g35 auto.
Please provide which you would choose Injen or Borla ? And why ?

the only info i could locate is as follows...

Injen looks great and performs well, however prob is loudest out of all of them , excellent service.

Borla has a 1mil mile warranty, better performance , costs less and doesnt sound as loud as the injen.

Really couldnt find much after install problems with either besides some insulation blow out on the injen (supposidly fixed now)

thanks for your help guys !

Another person whom thinks its too loud, I cant seem to make up my mind to buy this exhaust and am losing confidence in it. Im more and more leaning towards Borla or Fuji.

Are you guys planning on installing High Flow Cats to your exhaust? If so, I would not go with the Injen. It is loud, and just on the edge of being too loud. If you put H/F cats and / or a header with it - you better improve your audion system. Just my opinion, because I have had my Injen for over two months.

myself i dont mind it being loud... but there is a point when loud is too loud... injen may be too loud.

Im not planning on replacing the cats. leaning towards borla...

i really don't think the Injen is loud as you folks mention. i've been driving Teg's, Civic's, and Prelude's, Supra's TT, and RX7 TT with exhaust's louder than test pipes running into an Injen G. maybe some aren't used to exhausts on an import? i know that most import exhausts tend to be louder than domestic's with straight pipes. i love my Injen!

seriously, i have the SES, i wish it was louder. Its a great sounding and by far the best looking exhaust, just a lil quite for my taste. I wonder sometimes if i spent $750 for looks? Looks like i gotta get some new cats for more sound. go injen, its a quality product.

Well guys I do appreciate the responses.

The fact nobody has complained about fit, finish, quality tells me either would be an acceptable choice based on those concerns.

At this time I've chosen the Injen (and ordered) hopefully it will be in tomorrow or monday. I'll provide user reviews on stock vs injen after the install (mostly commenting on sound). I do have a Gtech but doubt I'll have it configured before i install the exhaust... though it would behoove me to do so

thanks again guys !

Congrats on the order. I am jealous of you now as I am still in limbo. Plese post your conclusions as to its audible level (i.e. too loud/not too loud). Have fun with it.

PP, I'm assuming you have a coupe. I have the Borla on my sedan and I love it. Great look and great sound. It was an easy install as well.

Injen installed....

******************* ( disclaimer attached ) ***********************
kinda funny, left installer and was driving down the highway... cars gave me somewhat of a distance ( i guess because there was alittle smoke comming out of the back = exhausted from your car on a cold day when started )

however... when i got on it it left a plume of smoke behind me like i lost a rod people really kept back at that point.

the bulk of the manufacturing oil seemed to burn off, however there is still some left and is to be expected for a couple hundred miles.

Fit and finish = installer commented this was a very easy install and other cat back systems were problematic requiring mods, adjustments, etc.

performance = Feels more powerful however thats about as worthless as my x-wife in the kitchen ! I dont have exact #'s now however ill configure my Gtech and provide results from that , additionally I never aquired results in stock form with the Gtech, so I have no baseline.

sound = too early to tell if its too loud or not. I dont mind irratating people outside the car but inside on long runs could be irratating. at idle and cruise the exhaust sound is resonable, 25% or more gas (estimate) and you immidately have quite a bit of growl.

One sound im concerned with is the sound of a gas leak when WOT (or better described as a hiss). I know the system is install properly and tight. Perhaps one of you veterans can shed some light ! is this normal or will it dissapear during break in ?

* disclaimer, all comments listed above are based on very few miles and to be considered /this driver's first impressions. A more extensive (and hopefully accurate) review will ensue.
