Drone with TDX2 + ART Pipes

So I installed my TDX2 and ART Pipes the other day, and it drones like hell especially in the 1500-2000 RPM range when I'm giving it a just little bit of gas. I know the TDX2 is supposed to be a drone-free exhaust system and that's what I was expecting, but having the TDX2 and ART Pipes on for just two days, I'm already going insane from all the drone. Am I missing something here? Is it the ART pipes that's making it drone so much? Help me out here... Thanks!

Let everything break in a bit and see if it alleviates the problem

Is this a brand new system? If not your going to need to check for leaks... And if you bought it used you are going to need new gaskets.

The TDX2 was bought used, previous owner put about 10k miles on it. ART pipes were bought new. I'm going to take it back to my mechanic to check for leaks or loose connections... hope he can find the problem.

I get drone with the TDX2 and stock cats around that same RPM range. It's probably louder in your car...

Cruise at a higher RPM if you do not want drone. sad, but true with this exhaust.

Also consider some sound deadening in the trunk and back seat...

How do you like it so far? Has the drone gone away?

You mentioned the 1500-2000 range

May be a dumb question but during these times of drone, are you in the right gear?
That can play a big factor.

Jersey, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume OP is like me and cruises at RPMs less than 3k. The TDX2 loses practically all drone after 3k for me. It is almost dead silent when I cruise in 6th at over 80mph.
1800 RPM creates head rattling drone in my car. I don't mind it most of the time since silence is just a downshift away.

When people say this is a drone free exhaust, they say that because at certain RPMs it really does quiet down A LOT compared to most exhausts. At 3k the exhaust note starts to change from a deep VQ rumble to a higher pitched VQ scream. Gotta love it.

Yeah well it's a 5AT so most of the time it does the shifting for me... I guess that's why I'm in such a high gear at low speeds. Almost all of the driving I do is city so it gives me a headache at the low RPMs when I'm going like 40-50 lol.

Being 5AT is definitely the problem. You can't chose your gear/rpm so you get the drone no matter what. Maybe try manually shifting while you're getting the drone?

old thread but Ill bump for my 2 cents.

Iv had the same set up for over a year and I get drone around 3k rpm when cruising. I ALWAYS use the triptonic shifting when driving. Youll never see me just leave it in auto mode, I dont really have a choice. It doesnt bother me one bit since we have the option to eliminate the drone by just using triptonic. Plus it allows you to hear the sweet sweet sound of your exhaust when your aloud to shift around 4-5k rpm

Thumbs up Poor, poor fellas

Wow...as much as everybody talks about motordyne exhaust systems, you'd think they were problem free. If the exhaust has 10,000 miles on it then, it's already broken in. Putting it on another car makes no difference. Yes check for leaks and if your mechanic put old gaskets on your exhaust system then he wouldn't be my mechanic. Especially when new gaskets are inexpensive. I've driven both 5at and now I own a 6mt both coupes and my exotic speed exhaust worked flawlessly on my 5at before my accident and now it brings joy to my ears in my 6mt.

If you are using hfcs than the exhaust note will increase due to increased exhaust volume you are existing from your car. Unless your car spends time on a track, a catback system is more than enough.
