TDX2 Fitment Issue

For an overpriced exhaust I would expect no fitment issue but mine does, passenger side exhaust is rubbing on rear sway bar and rear diff ears. If I twist to the left it will rub more on the diff ear, twist to right will rub sway. I've spoken to a few reliable resource and was told this is a common issue, also read few treads with similar concerns. I've been suggested to heat wrap the exhaust, buy the MD rear sways etc etc.. I am leaning more on heat wrapping that area where it rubs, any pros and cons on that idea?

What you have to do is rotate the ART pipes in order to adjust the exhaust all the way back there. I know it sounds ridiculous, but mine doesn't rub with the OEM sway bar. Rotating the ART pipes fixed my issue with the resonator touching the cross brace and the "poking" at the rear diff bolt or the sway bar.

Any drone with your setup? Saw you mentioned you are manual which theoretically shouldn't have any drone.

The exhaust was designed around the OEM sway bar locations and you have aftermarket ones. You might have an independent muffler shop take a look at it to see if it can be fixed by reconfiguring the hanger brackets or something.

Theoretically aftermarket sways fit the aftermarket exhausts better. They usually have a bump out here. What are you running, Godspeed sways?

I have Hotchkis sways F&R, are you saying the oem rear sways will work fine with clearance? It is just bothersome to me, I hear the squeeze noise in the rear everytime I put to first gear but gone once transitioned to 2nd gear. WTF, I love this exhaust so much just to experience this issue is dissapointing. What if I heat wrap that portion where rubbing occurs?

I'd email Tony at Motordyne and ask what his usual fix is, I'm sure he's dealt with this in the past given the popularity of those sway bars.

I asked about it over the phone before - he says SPIN THE CAT PIPES to adjust pitch and then also spin the pipe that hits on the pass side. It shouldn't be hitting.

Installed this last Saturday and I have the oem sways. It's pretty close but it goes over the sway and fits; my issue was the rear passenger heat shield covering the hoses of the gas lines, which I have read others had issues. Had to hammer it to have better fitment so it wouldn't touch or rub. Many have removed it or cut the heat shield but feel it protects some important hoses lol so alteration instead of a delete I thought was needed.

Oh yes I had that issue too. I had to bend that heat shield a little bit to get clearance but the gap still looked pretty close.

Update, I installed my z1 subframe collar inserts today and figured why not fix the fitment issue since I am already there. I stacked 2 washers around the bolts where the rear swaybar bushings are bolted to, it gave me enough clearance between the diff ear and swaybar where I don't hear any rubbing anymore. Issue fixed!

But now you have a sway bar system that isn't working as intended .

How is that so? The washers are so thin and still bolted perfectly to the swaybar endlinks.

By offsetting the sways even just a little bit you've affected the geometry of the suspension. The effect is probably minimal so I wouldn't worry about it.

I am already lowered about an inch with F&R camber kit, the little washers on swaybar bushing bolts are nothing, I am just happy that I don't hear any rubbing anymore.
