Exhaust Cut-out help
Hey everybody,
(Long time lurker, first time posting/joining)
I searched throughout the forum and internet and I need some help answering these questions.
So to begin with, I currently have a G35 coupe with the sports package (Big brembo brakes etc..) and my car is slightly lowered. I want to install cutouts to my exhaust in the mid-pipe so it can be loud or civilized when I want it to be. But my only issue is this;
I spoke to some muffler shops and they have some concerns, first what is the actually mid-pipe size, second where in the exhaust tunnel is there enough space to put an exhaust cut-out with the motor and all, what is a good quality one (AND CHEAP!!!) so it doesnt fail and starts rattling, and finally if I get one with a remote instead of a switch, will connecting it directly to the battery drain it?
Thank you guys so much for any help, and I would LOVE pictures for demonstrating.

You need to find a new muffler shop, if they can't do something as utterly basic as determining the size of the exhaust pipe then you DEFINITELY don't want them working on your vehicle.
Any reputable shop will be able to:
1. Measure the size of the exhaust pipe.
2. Look to see where there's enough room to install the cut-out.
3. Recommend a brand of exhaust cutout.

Well we didnt lift it up or anything, I went to 3 and just talked to them. Can anyone just show me a previous build and recommend a e-cutout that doesnt rattle or leak as much.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Not a common mod on the G's so you might not find much help here. Maybe try my350z.com as the 350's have pretty much the same exhaust system.
