Exhaust Bolts for OEM Exhaust Replacements

Hope everyone staying safe and healthy.

Lately I’ve been home more often. So, I’ve been tackling a lot of my projects on my checklist. One involved swapping my 3.3 diff to a 3.5. Another is tackling my 200K mile exhaust system with the nightmare rusty bolts. Ones that typically requires a cutting torch.

But I noticed the bolts on the differential are pretty small. Looks like they can fit on an exhaust. Do you think these will work as exhaust bolts?

With no washers, not enough threads

With 1 washer, just a couple threads left.

I am thinking 2 washers on each side might work, but not sure if they will hold on for exhaust system. Bad idea? What do you think?

or just buy new bolts? You can go to the hardware store and purchase some. I had to piece together my own when I bought some HFC cats used. So if you do take off those studs I remember using M8 bolts and nuts. Don't remember the length, but you could use your own judgment
