Is this package any good? I know I've heard good things about z1 motorsports but wondering if for this price I could piece together options for what this offers.
Z1 power package
On a side note would this still need a spacer? And would it be worth it to do the lower intake manifold as well?

HR doesn't use a spacer.
I wouldn't recommend that kit for a first set of bolt-ons for an HR motor, true dual cold air intake and a tune are the biggest gains on the HR, preferrably with a HFC.

I know compared to the other motor hrs don't have as a restricted plenum. But was curious more if there's any benefit. That kit comes with straight pipes, which from my understanding agould net a bigger gain then hfc. I so plan on putting a cat back, been looking at the fast intentions or invidia, as well as a cold air intake w/ hydroshield and a tune. Bottom line is my budget for mods is around 5 to 6k which I don't think will be enough for a turbo. I've seen cheaper ones like rev9 but also seen that their quality is crap. Any recommendations with my budget what I should then be looking at getting?Originally Posted by cleric670

Basically what you're looking at then, true dual cold air intake, hfc (test pipes if you don't mind the gas smell and a VERY loud exhaust), cat back, tune. I don't really see the need to swap out the HR headers since they're pretty darned good from the factory.
Take the leftover funds and replace the rear diff bushing, TransGo shift kit, Hotchkis sway bars, camber kit, lowering springs for a slight drop (oem stuff like coupe springs works for very small drops without the stiffness found in most coilover or spring packages.).

is the diff between a straight pipe and hfc that large? Ive heard the rear diff buahing does go out or leak oil as a known problem, ive heaed some recommendstions of getting poly ones. Whatabout something like mrev2 ive heard that mrev2 is pointless unless your adding a spacer but again this is all just from me googling and learning as i go. I don't expect to be crushing the track and known my budget limitations. This is also a learning experience for me as well. Realistically I can save 300 -400 a month to slowly save for more upgrades over time, I could prob save more but I like dumping a good amount into my 401k and emergency savings. This isn't counting the initial money I have now to play with.Originally Posted by cleric670

MREV2 and spacers are for the DE engine, not the HR.
I just realized you posted in the V35 sub-forum and you have asked a lot of DE questions. However you linked the Z1 Motorsports HR bolt-ons.
Exactly what engine do you have, if you're unsure then exactly what vehicle year/chassis do you have. You could also pop the hood and see if you have two air filter/intake tube/throttle body which would be the HR engine, and single air filter/intake tube/throttle body would be the DE engine.
HR wasn't available in the V35 chassis, it came in the V36 chassis.
2003-2006 sedan is DE
2003-2007 coupe is DE
2007-2008 sedan is HR
2008+ coupe and 2009+ sedan is actually the G37 with another completely different engine (VQ37VHR)
Each has it's own "best bolt-ons".
