Borla Exhaust System

I've installed Borla cat-back systems on my 94 SHO and several other vehicles I've owned in the past. I've found the sound and performance increase well worth the money.

With the "G" being a cut above... I e-mailed Borla and asked if they were planning to build a cat-back system for the "G". I've yet to receive an answer. Depending on the group's interest, perhaps others might want to join the effort to convince Borla to build a system for the G35.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

I called them the week I got mine and they were vague. As if they do not want to let anyone know if a system will be available. I found this to be true from several manufacturer of aftermarket parts.

I called the head of product development back in May when i got the car. He stated he was not interested in doing anything for the G35....

Re: Borla Exhaust System

I contacted them a few weeks ago and they did respond.
Their answer was: "No plans now, but check back in two months".

If everyone sends them an e-mail maybe they will get the idea.
Here is the link to the contact page.

I agree with Howard. Everyone who's interested in a Borla stainless steel cat-back exhaust system for our G35s should contact them by phone or e-mail.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

I had a Borla on my TT and it wasn't crap. It was the single best upgrade I had on my TT and I had many including a "chip". Most of the TT people that I had discussed this with thought their Borla's were great too.

I'd like to know what you base your "crap" comment on.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

I agree. When I was modifying my 300zx to convert it to the anniversary SMZ (sweet looking car), I was on a money's no object spending spree to put the very best exhaust system money can buy. I can guarantee you that Borla is by far the very best exhaust system period. The sound is to die for. Many of my friends who had more exotic cars said they never heard anything more sweeter than that. And the added bonus is that it's made from stainless steel and has some very long guarantee that I can't recall right now.

Borla would be the ONLY exhasut system I would ever put on any car I would own, irrelevant of price.

My .02

Neil

Re: Borla Exhaust System

my friend had a borla exhaust on his Impreza...
1) i have never seen such an ugly exhaust in my whole life
2) it sounds bad
3) there is no performance gain

he quickly got rid of it, and got some other ones (but still POS!)

i think the Nismo muffler would perform the best right now.

i think top secret have already put a titanium exhaust on the Z, so that means it would perfectly fit into our G35. but i think it would be too loud for ur taste.

there is no way i'm dumping my money on some cheap borla exhaust.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

You have to be careful (IMHO) when you jack with the exhaust on the G. The factory piece is a two-stage muffler that's tuned to the rest of the system. Messing with it could have positive results in one area, but negative in another. I wish mine sounded more like a BMW, but not too load.

The G35 has class. I would not want to take away from that with something from "the fast and the furious."

I love my G

Re: Borla Exhaust System

I'm sorry your friends experience with Borla was bad. I and many other TT owners got a boost of 10HP, it looked and sounded great.

So as far as I'm concerned, if Borla comes out with an exhaust for the G, I will get it.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

i want to hear my exhaust and not lose torque.

the stock exhaust is way too quiet. the only exhaust that can do this is the nismo weldina exhaust.

if i want loud, i'll start up my WRX with no cat and a titanium N1.

Re: Borla Exhaust System

Let's bring this one back to life. They're making the exhaust for the 350Z, so why not the G35? I just got a reply from Borla:

In reply to:

Thank you for contacting Borla Performance Industries.
Unfortunately, we do not have a Cat-Back or Header application for your 03' G35. We value your interest and will forward your request to our Research and Development Department for consideration.

I think they need more people emailing them and asking if they have the exhaust for the G35. Demand=market. Their email address is: SALES@Borla.com
