Where to get a polished intake duct?

Could anyone suggest where I might be able to get a polished intake duct without having the buy an entire CAI kit? I would want to keep the stock air box. Thanks.

Re: Where to get a polished intake duct?

From what I learned recently, the Z duct fits the Coupe, but to buy at the dealer is pricey. $191.27 (CaD) at my dealer in Brantford Ontario. Scoop in Barrie reports same price there.
It's supposed to be good for a few ponies, and be a lot nicer sounding cuz it doesn't have the silencer like the G does.
When I asked the other day about who has one: Only one left in Canada and it was spoken for. Back order wait? "who knows".

You might want to check out parts and the 350Z sites. I believe one guy on www.My350Z.com said he'd take $50 US for his air duct.

For those who haven't seen one on a G35 check out the "engine cover" thread. There's a picture of a 350Z engine and a shot of my engine with a 350Z air duct and engine cover.

DaveO. I saw that and it looks cool. Any extra punch thru the butt dyno? Prolly too little to notice but I am curious.
If you don't mind, what did you pay for the duct and where purchased? I'm thinking they are way overpriced in Canada.($191.27!).
I've attached a link to the engine cover thread:

I paid $75.00 USD brand new for mine at Trophy Nissan in Texas. PN 16576-CD000. Phone No. (972) 613-2200. Ask for Jayson.

Will the 350 intake duct work on the sedan?

mbarrad has one on his sedan. See the pic on the OMG thread.
I purchased one from Jayson also. It's on backorder till the end
of July I'm told. I fully expect it to fit my sedan.

God I love this car!

Re: Where to get a polished intake duct?

The Z duct is my backup plan, but for that much money I thought I'd take a look to see if I could get one of those shiny polished ducts. But it doesn't seem like there's anything out there meant to fit the stock airbox. I suppose that makes sense. I wonder if I could find something like a Samco hose to replace it...

My opinion...

No denying that shiny metal intake tubes are pretty. Unfortunately, metal intakes = hotter air delivered to the engine.

Insulation kits are available to reduce the heat, but hide the looks.
