AEM CAI + Motordyne spacer ?

Ok so I just wanted to know if My dealer installed AEM CAI and the Motordyne spacer would be a good combo for some power and also if I should delete my cats with the stock exhaust if that would give a noticeable increase in power I'm kinda confused wheter the Motordyne is better for the 05 Revup engine VS my 04 Auto engine. Also if I do both the Cat Delete and the Spacer do I need to do the Technosquare Reflash or what help me out thanks. I just wanted to know if it's a good idea or if I should just leave my car alone lol.

The 05 REVup version uses the MREV mod, not the MD spacer alone, The MD spacer on your 04 auto should work out fine and dandy and the AEM CAI isnt going to give you much of a gain, just a lot of sound. the cat delete or "test pipes" are pretty damn loud themselves, it all depends on your preference.

John,

I just got a set of Labree Resonated Test Pipes. The stock cats are really restrictive when you look at them and this mod gave me a noticeable power increase throughout the rev range. And, honestly, they aren't that loud. I thought it would be a lot louder and drone, but it just makes you current exhaust note deeper when you press on the gas. Idle is about the same, but just more of a growl above 2k rpms. They are excellent quality, lifetime warranty and they are located in Canoga Park. Pairing this up with a MD spacer will definitely give you a significant increase over stock, but I'm sure its a lot less than your used to.

I have an AEM CAI on my '04 5AT and I love it. Also, I would recommend you to check out Crawford's plenum and high flow cats. Thats the set-up I have (along with a Stillen cat-back exhaust). The plenum and high-flows are about $850 for both of them (You can find them at MyNismo.com). Now, regarding an install, do you have any friends who are mechanically inclined (they don't have to be pros, but have at least some experience)? Because the dealer will overcharge you on that kind of an install. If you can, find a tuner shop who can do the install, it might be slightly cheaper. If you do have a friend who can help, the install for the CAI and the plenum is not too bad, but the cats can be kind tricky.

BTW, on my car domain page I have a list of starter mods for G35 owners, please check it out:

Good luck!
