intake comparison questions

Nismo CAI
vs.
JWT PoPCharger w/ Ztube
vs.
Stillen Airbox

Which one is best?

Anyone have a Nismo CAI installed? If so, Is it recommended?

i have gone through all the intake setups...CAI, Stillen Cold air box, JWT popcharger...by far the best setup was a ztube and a k&n filter panel...after that i would get the stillen cai setup because of the heat box...the jwt heat shield is not very effective...

I don't know a much about popcharger or Nismo aka Aem intake, allthough i am well aware Stillen intake is good. But, i say go for HKS racing suction trust me you'll love it.

Nismo / AEM can`t be converted to Short ram, Injen RD and MR can be converted to short ram, i personally prefer Injen MR, its a Two Pipes only, about JWT and Stillen they are good, but they wont give much performance than Z-Tube / K&N Drop in because they just replace the flat filter with a round one and give more noise, lets get into details.

JWT Pop Charger same as Stillen but Stillen`s HeatShield is more Quality Work.

K&N Typhoon is a short ram, one pipe system it replace`s the stock tube/air box aka Power Duct.

Nismo/AEM they are same except Nismo comes in black and with a bypass valve ( this valve will save your CAI from sucking Water into the Engine) it cant be converted to Short ram because the system hangs on the Lower Pipe Mount so if you remove the lower pipe nothing will hold the upper pipe.

Injen MR (Mega Ram) the new released CAI is more recommended than Injen RD i dont know how RD works but i know that the MT has a model and the 5AT has a different one, so MR will fit both, plus u can easily convert it to a short ram plus the MAF will be integrated with the upper pipe, this one is highly recommended.

People use Stillen/JWT because of rainy weather if you live in rainy environment so Z-Tube/K&N Drop in, Stillen/JWT, K&N Short Ram or Nismo/AEM with bypass valve is your only choice.

I Got Nismo CAI its good very quiet with bypass valve it will give wonderful noise, if your not satisfied with it remove the bypass valve and Expect your VQ to Scary SCREAM at 5k/ above rpm.

I like the explaination from NETSHARK! This is the information I was looking for. I live in Tacoma, Wa. I haven't seen a sunny day in the last 3 weeks..
It rains everyday over here.

Its Stillen/z-tube for now.

Thanks for all your inputs.

I would deff go with the z-tube/K&N filter. I just installed it on my car, and I love the sound change in the intake and the exhaust. I also have the MREV, so that probably improved the sound, but it sounds great. Here is an audio clip for you to listen to. I was in my garage, and didnt rev up above 3.5k. Later in the clip when the tone gets deeper it is because I am hitting the throttle a lot harder, but still not exceeding 4k. Good luck with your decision.

Stillen is fine, if i were u i would go for Injen MR in rainy days set it as Short ram, when the weather is so clear set it as CAI , the bad thing is there`s no heatshield in short ram setup.

More on the intake...........

I have had the Z-tube and the Stillen box installed for
several months now and love it. The sound is great
and you won't have to mess with it after it's in. I'll
clean it every 90 days due to wind gales in S. Ca.
