HKS. Whats the big deal. All HKS Owners read?
It's true that TD exhaust systems can tend to lower your low-end torque due to less back pressure. But less back-pressure at lower rpm's is not necessarily a bad thing because ultimately it's a trade-off for better performance in the mid to high rpm range.
One thing to always keep in mind is that you are taking your car from stock, and adding aftermarket performance parts to it - so that you can gain performance. There's always some sort of trade-off when you start down this path where you will likely loose power somewhere to gain power in other places. That's the name of the game. If you want your car to drive like it did when it was stock, and it feels adequate when you're in first gear looking for a parking space, then keep it stock. But how many of you drive around at 2-2.5k rpm's, never shifting higher than 3k rpms?!
Especially in these cars. They beg to be rev'd!
I can agree that there are a handful of exceptional exhaust systems out there, and the quality of them all just gets better. The bigger name companies know they need to provide quality products or they'll crash and burn. HKS does put out a quality exhaust system and there are many happy customers with it.
Tuning exhaust systems can be a tricky and challenging topic. It's really about what works best for your car with your particular mods. Don't just follow the herd. Do a little research.
Paying more money for a product doesn't always mean you're getting better performance, better quality, etc. And it's also not true, in the context of this forum and performance parts for automobiles, that you get what you pay for. Educate yourself as a consummer and just because one person says it, doesn't necessarily mean it's gospel.
now, if you're looking for a great setup, then get the Strup headers with the Injen TD exhaust! what's that? Oh yes, we have them both on sale.
And just a little something else to tease you with, Strup is coming out with their own test pipes at the end of this month. PM me if you're interested in getting a great deal on one of the first sets. Independent dyno tests will be posted as soon as they are available too.

The exhaust sounds exactly like this, but even better at WOT- some sound clips make it sound raspy , they just dont justify it , you'll love the exhaust...

BTW: A question I have been trying to get an answer to for a long time-
Will megan resonated test pipes increase or decrease peformance coupled to the HKS Hi power true dual exhaust system? due to the loss in backpressure?
Thanks-

I love my HKS. As has been said before, you must hear it in person before you judge its sound. Online clips just do not do it justice, and imo it sounds by far the best when it is driving under load, instead of just revving in nuetral. I personally did not feel any low end loss, but I installed it at the same time I installed my crawford plennum, so I'm not sure what power came from where... I do feel more power at the top end though. One of these day's I'm gonna get my car dynoed and then we'll see what the real story is. But for now, I've had my exhuast for 7 months and still love it.
