Isn't the power duct the piece that sits ontop of the front grille in front of the air filter...It's that lil rubber peice that directs air into the filter...

I have the K&N Typhoon CAI and I love it...

Go with the stillen and Ztube, stillen because of the heat shield/box. when I first installed my stillen it wasnt too loud and didnt roar like others had stated it did make a cool hissing sound when WOT.

I also didnt feel any gains but once i added my ztube it reaaly opened things up and now i can finally say it roars and i feel a slight kick in the upper rev range.

This is the setup to go with aliitle pricey but def worth it !

I'm thinking about installing a Stillen z-tube and a k&n filter (putting the k&n filter in the stock air box) Any sound improvements?

Thanks

^ like I told you in the pointless thread you CREATED to ask this question...S-E-A-R-C-H . You will learn so much more than someone giving you a quick answer. You'll discover other options, the pros the cons, opinions on sound, maintenance etc. You could have answered your own question by now..stop spamming the threads.

The Z-Tube and K&N drop in filter is the easiest way to go and would probably work well enough for some members. However the Stillen CAI including his Z-Tube has that giant K&N cone filter which flows much more air then the small panel drop in....always my choice!

I have an 06 automatic g35 coupe stock everything. Im only 17 so I can't afford to pay over like 400 for an intake or exhaust system. But my goal is to make my g more loud and hissier as in sporty. It's too quiet for me as a stock. So I'm getting a Z tube forsure but I hear I have to buy 2 intakes?? Is this true? Also what else do I need to buy besides the z tube, thanks

Two intakes are only necessary for the HR platform. You have a DE, you only need 1. If you're on a budget, install your Z-tube and remove the power duct on the stock airbox to achieve a little bit more induction sound. No it doesn't gain you HP and keep in mind that the power duct probably helps seal off additional heat.

Ok I can spend like 300 so I can buy a z tube and instead of removing the power duct, what else could I buy from up there^? A pop charger or a kn filter?

Do you want performance? Or sound?

Fyi, you can have a Z-tube and still remove the power duct if you're looking for more induction noise on a budget (you also get to retain the stock airbox which flows more than enough air for your N/A car)...it takes all but 20 seconds to pop off the screws and remove it, no tools needed.

K&N + Z-tube is about 150 bucks. I use Apexi + Z-tube. If you're not worried about heat soak, pop-charger can be had for under $300 I think. (I've never looked it up cause I've never wanted one)

Here's a Stillen intake for sale. Grab it before it's sold.
