Stock Exhaust Rattle

I know this has been discussed but I'm trying to find out if the dealer will fix a exhaust rattle by other drivers experiences.

My exhaust rattles at 1800 to 2100 RPM until it warms up..but sometimes it still rattles after warm.

I kicked the exhaust this morning to see what gives and it made the rattle sound. I sounds like a metal ball is inside of the muffler (like a spray paint can).

Will the dealer replace this under warranty?

Or am I better off buying an aftermarket one...(this was in my plans but not so soon). I still want a good OEM setup to put away for the day I part out and sell the G.

definitly talk to your choice of dealership first, and see if they will do anything about it =)

I had the same thing. Rattle noise at cold start. Most of the time it went away after warmup. I don't think the dealer will do anything. I switched out my stock muffler with the greddy sp2 so I don't have a solution for you.
I would just live with it. Good luck.

I had the same problem. I found out that it was the heat shield that was loose. Instead of fixing it I just bought the stillen cat back exaust. This was the best mod I have done so far. I recomend that you do the same.

Thanks...Im going to creep under my car this weekend and see if I can tighten anything up. If not, well i'll call the dealer to see what they will say...it a 50 mile drive to where I brought the G...argh...

I am still researching on exhaust setups...and looking for deals. I can live with it right now (thats what the radio is for I guess).

Ok this is an update on the muffler rattle....I should of check earlier, but didn't want to creep under the car cause it was kinda chilly outside...anyways.... I found a rock the size of a baseball laying on the bracket that connects to the hangers...duh...I don't know how that rock stay there so long especially when I always push the G to test its limits. I was getting louder and louder so i decided to get under the car.

Oh well...I guess this bracket is a debris catcher. I can wait to save up some for an exhaust.

check the heat sheilds at the cats while you're under your car. Mine were rattling too. I took them off, stuck on some dampening material (Cascade Vmax) and reinstalled them. No more rattles put the damping material on the top side (away from cats).
