Amsoil vrs K&N Air Filters ??

I recently read some postings about the benefits of the Amsoil oiled foam air filter over those of the K&N oiled cotten mesh filter. Comparisons abound on the net - mostly by Amsoil itself. However, having weeded through many Internet comparisons, it appears that Amsoil is better in terms of quantity of airflow and quality of filtering. Can anyone prove or disprove this? I've been using K&N as the de facto standard and it looks like its throne may be toppled...
