Is the HKS high-power Ti exhaust legal in US?
Ken . . . I love my HKS set-up. It sounds great. It's not too loud and has a lower more agressive note than the stock exhaust.
Come on out for the Santa Cruz run. There should be at least a couple of us there with this set-up.

On the Freeways you should be fine. However, if you are driving in the city streets, use a bit of discernment when you are zipping around in the lower gears and higher rpm ranges . . . A curious police officer might just want to see what is making all that noise.
Your driving style ultimately determines how loud the exhaust gets.
I think in Cali it's illegal for you exhaust to be louder than 95 decibels (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). HKS designed these pipes with resonators to keep the sound under 95 decibels. So you shouldn't get pulled over for your exhaust being too loud, and it will pass smog.
First statement is correct....anything over 95 db is illegal. But you can get pulled over and sent to an inspection test even if you have stock exhaust! So any exhaust is a gamble here. The exhausts which HKS sell to meet the 95db requirement are usually the sport series; since this is a jdm exhaust it never went through DB testing. HKS will not guarantee a 95DB or under reading.... Should be ok w/ a little discernment as someone mentioned.
