Anyone Gut Their Stock Cats?

Just wodnering if anyone here has gutted the stock catalytic converters??? i'm looking to retain factory look if I go to the dealer, but gain the performance from straight through. My dealer has said headers and exhaust were fine as long as I kept the cats in place. I could always get test pipes and then switch them out if I need to go, but gutting the stock cats and leaving them is just so much less work. anyone do this yet?

If you do it and EVER sell the car the new buyer [even his future buyers] can sue you [at any time in future] to return the car to as oem.

No statue of limitations on emission tampering........if you sell a car even with a passing emission test it is considered fraud if tampered!

Aftermarket cats do not relieve you of obligation to use oem cats until after 120,000 miles.

In California the STATE will help the new owner find you. For example say the car ends up in CA [10 years from now] and the cats are noticed/ tested.

A tampered car should always be sold to a dealer, that way the chain of evidence stops, as dealers are supposed to check for such things. If they resell your liability MIGHT STOP or be diminished.

120k? Really? I always thought it was 50k and ONLY IF the component has failed.

When the mustang was sold they made me sign a HUGE document detailiing ALL the mods that were done to protect them and me from future liability.

Personally, i'm suprised they even took my car with things like different gearing in it(so the speedo/odo was off ~13%, haha)
