If I can make it to your dyno, I will take some drive by clips. Let me know if I need to bring my camcorder or camera....

If you have a camcorder and want to bring it, great. My digital camera is obviously not that good at recording video/sound so your camcorder may work better for everyone here.

jameyb, please post the results of your dyno. I am very interested to see the gains in HP/TQ from the Stillen, as it is one system I am considering. What does the butt dyno tell you? Thanks.

I will definitely post the results tomorrow or Sunday so keep checking back. As far as the butt dyno goes, I am a very happy man! My buddy that helped me install it also noticed a difference. I am just trying to not be too overly optimistic until I see the numbers.

However, it is worth it just for the sound alone in my opinion.

can't wait. if the results are good, i think i'll get the ztube/spacer/exhaust combo and hopefully find some headers that fit the sedan. then i'll do a utec tune. hoping all of that will be ~35hp/35ftlb torque...

Is the second dyno coming soon still? I'm looking at this exhaust for my '04 sedan and I wanted to see what gains you got from this mod.

Not sure why, but he lost power over his previous dyno. I obviously don't have all the graphs, and I am not sure what Jamey wants posted, but I can give you a little info.

His previous best was 235 (HP) and 229 (TQ), and his best this time was 231 and 227 if I recall.

His A/F seemed ok (a lot better than mine), and it seemed to be running pretty strong, so we could not figure out what was going on. I think he is going to give it some time, maybe reset the ECU and try again. The numbers were uncorrected, and it was cooler by about 10 degrees on the second run, but it was pouring rain outside, so the humidity was probably higher.

One thing I found interesting, is that each successive run yielded higher results on both of our cars, his first run was low, around 229 and 225 (maybe even less). My first run was around 231 and 230, and my 3rd run was 239 and 238 I think.

Needless to say, Jamey was probably not real happy with the runs, but he seemed to really like the exhaust, it does sound really good and is not too loud (this is the reason I went to the dyno). When we went for a drive (in the pouring rain), I thought his car ran very strong. I am still deciding between the stillen and possibly the HKS rear section. I was very happy with my bone stock 239/238 run, that is higher than my bone stock 350Z dynoed.

I still like the exhaust quite a bit, but I would like to figure out why he lost power. I am sure Jamey will chime in at some point to provide his input.

I would like to thank Jamey for hanging around the shop taking me for a ride after my car dynoed, I had a good time at the shop, the guys there were good to talk to, they had cars from Vipers to Civics to 300Z's, so it was interesting.

I also have videos of both cars on the dyno, his car with the MD 1/2" spacer, Z-tube and Stillen, and mine with the coupe middy and Z-tube/K&N.

I will try to edit and post them in the next few days if I can.

I think you meant 231 in your first post.

You seem to be getting really good numbers for an '04 sedan. His stock '05 should have better results than yours, which is odd. But you also have the coupe middy. Do you remember if you got any gains after adding that?

Thanks for the information, I'll be watching this thread closely.

Yes, 231, sorry I changed that. My car is a 6mt, but it is an 04, so I would say Infiniti underrated the sedans that year. The mods I have add maybe 1-2 HP. I would say my car is just about as close to bone stock as possible.

I would say my car is closer to 280-290 at the flywheel. As I mentioned my G dynoed higher than my 03 350Z did, so....

I have the same car as you except mine is bone stock. Well, except for the tires.

I would love to see what mine dynos at for comparison.

I do have some pretty light-weight wheels and tires, but still not enough to make a big defference.

It is hard for me to compare my car to Jamey's because they are so different. The big difference being the model year and my 6mt vs. his 5at. I really did not plan to dyno on Saturday, but after watching his dyno I was curious. Based off his numbers from last week, I was expecting around 230 for mine. I am pretty sure the 05's are rated at 280 HP vs. the 260 HP of my 04. With the 2 mods Jamey has, which have been pretty well proven to make power, I expected to be lower than his.

I really only have Infiniti to thank for my numbers, as I said, I think the 03-04 models are way under-rated at 260 HP.

As I posted earlier... If you are going to compare before and after to determine the HP/TQ gains you need to correct to SAE standards, otherwise there are too many unknowns to be accurate.

I could say my car dynoed at 260RWHP and it would be meaningless without knowing the conditions when it was done.

Was this a dynojet? And are the run files available for analysis?
