yet another Y-pipe question.

Ok, Ive done quite abit of reading, however im not seeing the answer. what i want to know is, if i swap out my Y-pipe w/ a aftermarket one, what kind of gains am I looking at? I know im better off doing a full system and all, but this is more or less a curiosity question. it appears that the factory one has a resonator of some sort, and im curious how much thats hurting us. can anyone help me out here?

TIA Gunner

Changing out your y-pipe should be like last on your
mod list! Get a new cat-back system or high flow
cats first. I threw my stock y-pipe away when I got
my Borla cat-back system because it was a dual-
system and I didn't need it....dumb! Now, I was
given a single pipe cat-back system and need to
find a y-pipe. Just looking for a better sound

it has been suggested to me tha the y-pipe design is horrible on our cars, its like a big T and that switching it to a more free flowing design will be one of the biggest bang for the buck mods.

I'd go with a cat back true duel system personally-- I did my homework...

I drove my sisters 350z stock... After all my mods-- My car picks up about the same up till 3krpms, then it just rips open after that.. really adds to the daily driving experince, and im sure it really helps on the track (i just can't bring my self to bring my beautiful car on the tarmac)

Like I always say-- Buy mods in groups... Intake, HF cats, plenum, then Headers, Catback, Pullies... Then Cams and 3.91 gear drive

Thats the way I'm doing it-- And each group you get a NICE increase and some kind of really cool new feature. (IE, CAI sound with exhaust being louder...then new exhaust sound and good hp gains, then NICE horsepower gains, with much faster pulling gears)
