Tanabe touring medalliion or Fujitsubo for g coupe?
For a while I was set on the Fujitsubo. (a little louder than stock w/ 7whp gain) Then I saw the Tanabe touring medallion..93db or under ; 7 whp gain; and the thing I wanted the most......DUAL WALL SLASH CUT ROLLED TIPS!!!!! (looks closest to stock..some dumb*ss thinks the dual wall ROUND tip looks like stock) However I am curious to how loud it actually is. Anyone in socal area have this exhaust? Fortunately I was able to take a test drive in a car that was stock except for intake and FUJI exhaust; and I must admit; it was awesome. Very quiet but provided a distinct tone. Wanted to know how the Tanabe would measure up. Anyone with either exhaust please chime in. Let me know....thanks in advance.
PS: I won't be getting the Tanabe/Fuji used; calling either company for bolt sizes, general discussion, tech help (when I should be taking it to an ASE certified mechanic), and whining like a b*tch; then purchasing the other one as well.

Dont know about the sounds, there are some clips on the tanabe site. The quality also looks top notch, esp those tips! But isnt that 7 whp including the Y pipe? So with 980 for the system and 490 for the y pipe its more expensive than some true dual systems. I am not sure if those tips are worth that much more. You can get the Stillen single for less than 980 WITH the Y pipe.

The Y-pipe will free up 7rwhp, and y-pipe + exhaust should free up closer to a realistic 10-11rwhp.
Our video clips were unfortunately taken with very low tech means, so the low frequency sounds (bass) was not picked up with the digital camera. Hopefully one of the members with this system can chime in.

I'm guessing the Medallion Touring will be quieter since its rated quiter than the SMH.
BTW, I was gonna go the full Fuji route (exhaust and ypipe), but decided to try someting different and it saved me some $$....

talked to the guys at perf nissan today and asked about the tanabe medallion touring exhaust. they told me it would be:
slightly louder/deeper at idle/city driving
and be loud (but not annoying loud) at WOT
and it keeps the stock note, just deeper. in other words, he said if you blind folded someone and drove passed them they would still be able to identify it as a g
i am seriously considering this exhaust setup
however, i too am considering the fujitsubo legalis r as it is suppose to have excellent quality - which is why nismo chose them (fujitsubo) to make their exhaust
