Re: Gialla Grill

Is that on a sedan? Can you post more pics, possibly from a greater distance so we can see the overall look?

Re: Gialla Grill

Looks great! Did you have any problem removing the two connectors in the OEM grille in the upper right and left corners?

Re: Gialla Grill

more pics. Ca_Kid, no problem with the stupid Nissan clips on the right and left side. I used a torch to get them off. : )
Just glad I didn't have to use them again.

Re: Gialla Grill

Oh yeah....b4 I forget. I used an emblem designed for the trunk. I filled it with PC7, put two ss screws in the resin and put closing nuts on the other side of the grill to hold it. It was a pain in the *** but it looks great and you couldn't get it off with a sledge. Sorry for the crappy pic. Time for a new camera. Painting only cost me $70. Wet sand, three coats of paint and three coats of clear. Teiwa was great to deal with - btw. Thanks to Ca_Kid for his help.

Re: Gialla Grill

Quick question for those of you with the grill...

Does the metal mesh come on it already? Or did you add that?

Thanks, J

Re: Gialla Grill

I never though of doing it that way. Probably would have been easier. I had earlier purchased the center emblem gold plated from Infiniti in Scottsdale. After I got the Gialla grille, I just installed the same Gold plated emblem on that grille.
If you had your grille professionally painted, you got a real deal, as mine was done by a professional paint shop, but it cost twice as much at $140.00. It figures though, cus everything in this County is more expensive than anywhere else in the country. Glad I had the grille painted Black. Like the contrast with the C-Blue.

Re: Gialla Grill

The guy who painted it was a friend of a friend who owns a body shop. He did a great job. The emblem thing was my idea but I work with some crazy engineers so the implementation had to "pass" tough scrutiny. : ) Next mod - plenum / nismo exhaust....... should be fun
Edited by cliverman on 11/12/03 04:30 AM.

Isnt the trunk emblem just a stick on? What do you mean by filled it?

I'm expecting my grille is a few days and would like to get the emblem in there as well.

Re: Gialla Grill

Good question. I pulled all the sticky tape off the back (it's hollow) and filled it with the PC7. You use JBWeld instead of PC7 -it's a little easier to find. Make sure which ever product you try, you wait a couple of days before putting it on the car. It really was pretty easy.

Re: Gialla Grill

thanks for the info. the grille came today, and got the emblem attached to the mesh via taking the sticky tape off like you said. seems to be on there very secure. thanks!

Re: Gialla Grill

what made you decide to paint it black? You didn't want it matching the car?
