What would be the best way to secure my lip?

Hello! Currently I have a N1 front lip. It is secured by 2 brackets underneath the bumper and then it is bolted to the wheel wells. Anyways, I have noticed that the lip slightly moves up and down as I drive and is beginning to wear away at the paint. I was curious if the best way to secure it would be to get some 3m tape, or is there some sort of rubber cement type compound I could apply, as the edge that is making contact with the paint is fairly thin (1/8 inch) so I think 3m tape MAY be hard to cut so thin and apply.

Hope you can visualize what I am talking about. THanks a lot!

congrats on the lip! im waiting on mine which is being painted as we speak. most people ive talked to said they used 3m double sided tape along the top of the lip with just the 2 bolts on the side and it worked fine. also, can you post some pics of the brackets underneath? i have 4 screws, 4 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 brackets but wasnt sure where they all went.

alright got some pics, my car is really low and all I have is a camera phone so this is the best I could do! I hope they help. Should give you an idea of how they go on the lip. First time I installed it I did it completely wrong so this should eliminate that mistake for you lol..

This is after maybe 4 months with the lip, the brackets get a bit rusty lol...

ahh so the bracket hangs off the stock plastic protector and connects to the lip. makes sense. i think ill use those and a screw on each side of the lip to connect to the wheel well. that and double sided tape along the top of the lip. still leaves me with 2 bolts and nuts though...

I used 3m double sided tape, I put it on the upper edge of the lip first then pressed it against the bumper. Lip is now snug against bumper, no rubbing.

Color doesn't match perfectly, but I am considering having the lip & bumper repainted to be perfect

Hmm I wonder if I could take it off and do that... I think the self welling screws in the wheel well wouldnt go in if I did that.
