Nismo rear diffuser--Is the fitment really that bad?

For those that have installed/attempted to install the nismo authentic rear diffuser--is the fitment not OEM?

Do modifications really have to be sone to get the diffuser to mount up correctly? I assume most shops could resolve any issues?

Does the install include screws in addition to 3m tape?

Would painting it to my car's color (DG) look the best or matte black?

yes, it's that bad. i highly suggest the ebay (i've had it myself), ravspec, or kuruma z versions.

imalazeeass used to have the authentic nismo diffuser, painted dg, on his car. he is one of the only people i know that didn't have fitment issues. in fact, he is the only person i know that didn't have fitment issues.

trueskillz recently received his authentic nismo diffuser after waiting months for it. i think it was a complete nightmare for him.

hehe, so he goes with...

so for those people that say they buy authentic kits because the fitment is better...BS! this and the top secret front are two examples of authentic kits having very poor fitment.

hmmm.interesting. Thanks for the heads up hero! Surprising considering authentic nismo front bumpers seem to have oem finish, but their diffuser is off--someone needs to call nismo japan and tell them to make a new mold--lol--not like they would listen--or just go w/ a replica, as most forum members have done w/ success.

yeh, man.

ebay replica - the seller is local to me, here in socal. i picked it up, went home to test fit it, and was surprised to see it fit the bumper like a glove. the only reason i had to get rid of it is because it didn't fit with my fatty hks tips.

ravspec replica - i've only seen their carbon fiber version in person, but the fitment looked pretty good. the only issue i saw was that that it was cracking at the top...might have been from the carbon fiber finish. i have no idea how that stuff works.

kuruma z replica - seen 2 or 3 of these in person at some local meets. these are top notch from what i have seen in person, pics, and have read in reviews. of the three replicas, i believe these are the most expensive.

kuruma z used to offer it on c/f, but they discontinued it and ravspec is the only vendor that offers it in c/f. that's something to keep in mind if you're a c/f *****.

The Karumaz looks nice. Maybe, I should wait until my ARC exhaust arrives to make sure the tips aren't too big. Do you think the diffuser goes well w/ aftermarket exhausts in general? (the single path, dual exit arc wxhaust for cpv35 is titan and will have burnt tips)

uhhm, first of all. holy fvck! you're buying the arc exhaust?

as far as i know, you'd be the first in the states to have it because no one is (no offense) crazy/ballin' enough to drop $6k+ (assuming you got the full catback) on an exhaust!

the tips on the arc exhaust aren't that large - 3.50393701 inches. of course, it depends on how the exhaust sits, but i wouldn't think you'd have a fitment issue. my hks tips are so damn huge...that's why mine were rubbing against the diffuser.

honestly, i've grown out of the nismo diffuser stage. i used to think it was the ****. imo, just get that part painted matte black...it'll have a simpler/cleaner look if you ask me.

its actually i ordered the single path including the y-pipe for about $3200-it was custom made by arc and I believe its on a mackin freight over to the states now. The true dual is 6k--still very expensive! But I am an arc Titan ***** lol. The y pipe will be coming after the b pipe and muffler. Ill be using a tanaba ss y pipe with the titan b pipe and exhaust until i get the arc y pipe. Im looking forward to compleating my breathing mods soon! Ill he sure to post flicks and sound clips when they go on

iirc, you wanted pictures of the nismo diffuser painted DG (since most people paint it black). here you go:
