^ yes, because there are alot of crappy bras and installer out there.. your body shop might've told you that because its a headache for both customer and shop when the customer decides to take the car back to the shop and ask them why the paint looks discolored.. and dirt under bra = owned.

when a good bra is done properly by an installer you'll be fine. as for taking care of the bra you use the wax with the LEAST amount of polish in it to prevent discolor..

we have a new vendor on here that is offering his services to so cal customers.. maybe you guys can seek him out and shoot him a PM

Any truth to it?

that cant be right. I just had mine installed and if it's done correctly there is no way dirt can get into the clear bra unless it was already there. Also, my installer told me NOT to wax it but to use detailer spray after each wash and to make sure to wash off any dead bug on the clear bra asap.

+1...sounds more like what someone would say about a cloth bra (debri gets under it a ruins the paint).

Sorry for my ignorance, but can anyone tell me what this clear bra is and why they use it?
I see some cars having a black fabric covering front part of the car. Always wondered why they use that.

Thanks.

It is a clear plastic protection film that is applied to the front of the vehicle. It helps to prevent chipping and road rash on the front surfaces of the vehicle.
You can get many stages, a full bumper wrap, leading edge of hood and fenders, front of mirrors, rocker panels etc.
You hardly notice it is on the car except where the film ends.
Here is the place I got my 3M Clear bra applied. It might explain and show it better. Click Here
