My lights are painted red and I see no visible difference in the light output from stock.

You put it in the oven, to soften the adhesive thats holding the lense in place. Thanks for all the replies. I'm just glad I tried this. I was a lil nervous washing the car today. But happy to report no water in the headlight.

Those look HOT. I would like to do this to my lights, but i am going with the overlays first... When those come off or if i dont like them, then ill do this mod.... Very nice work!

Lights came out good. Did you sand them or just paint straight over the chrome?

The bezel does not do anything for light output, it is there to actually block/diffuse some of the light from the foglight reflector. Painting it black will not hurt performance in any way, and will probably actually help by scattering less light.
