Seibon TS CF hood - need opinon on running NO PINS

I'm still debating on getting a CF hood. I searched and saw a few ppl running these hoods had it popped open but it seemed like it was due to bad fitment or install issues.

I want to run this hood BUT without hood pins (I know bad idea). I see soooo many g35c running these hoods without the pins so what are your thoughts?

I would like to hear ppl with these hoods. I use to run a VIS hood on my integra for a few years back and I never had an issue but it wasnt my daily car either.

So, for those ppl with these hoods, are there any fitment issues, vibrations or movement at certain speeds? Also can u tell me if it is your daily or just a weekend car and how long u had the hood? Thanks.

there have been a number of people that have had issues wit hoods flying up. Thegirlsean is one of them. It is strongly advised that you get hood pins whenever you get a CF hood for the G35.

I don't know if these problems are fitment problems. The people that I've talked to that have had problems have always had issues with the middle bracket not catching...

yeah.. all it takes it to adjust the latch upward toward the hood so it latches correctly and doesn't go bye bye

Many times the issue isn't how the latch locks, or how well, but that the latch on the hood is simply held on by a little fiber glass and resin. That's all. So over time (and stress) the hood latch weakens and crack, etc. This is when you will have the issue of your hood flying up. Your hood can smack your right int he face and the latch of the hood still in the latch of the car.
man that was what I was afraid of.

Anyone know if there are hood locks that are placed in the corner of the front of the hood? I remember seeing one a few yrs ago but havent seen any now.

Get pins. Why risk it? The aerocatch pins look badass. You have no reason not to get them.

You could always add some extra fiberglass around the hood latch for extra security. I have taken my car over 100 and no problems. Had to adjust my hood latch but it locks the hood on tight. Also, like said above, had to dremel a little bit around the latch to get it to fit correctly.

Those are actually the plus flush and attach to the outside. The flush attach from underneath the hood. You'd want the plus flush for the hood. I just picked some up and they seem rather well made and not a bad piece of insurance from keeping your hood flying for $100 plus install.
