Hood Pins

Where is the cheapest place to buy Aerocatch hood pins? And what is the model number for the non-locking flush pins like the ones below? 120? Just wanna make sure...

Also, can these pins be painted and still look OK? I plan on painting my c/f hood DG and I don't want these hood pins to stick out like a sore thumb. But at the same time I don't want to paint them if they'll look like ****.

Also, for those of you that have already installed these hood pins, do you think I can install them after the hood has been painted without effing the hood/paint up? In other words, how messy is the install? Do you think the hood/paint will be chopped up/cracked if I install the pins after the hood is painted?

What are some other good (brands?) traditional style hood pins?

Thanks.

Probably best to just order it from AeroCatch directly. They are only 82 dollars and 4 for shipping. I bought mine at a local tuner shop in AZ and paid 85. So I doubt you are going to find them cheaper anywhere. I recommend the Flush Plus that sits on top of the hood. The flush is extremely hard to cut the hole exact and look good.

Funny little fact, AeroCatch is actually the supplier to Top Secret. They sell them on their site for $182, talk about mark up. They even use the exact same picture off of the AeroCatch website and just throw their logo onto of it.

AeroCatch $82 http://www.aerocatch.net/

Top Secret $182 http://www.topsecretjpn.com/ac.shtml

It was really easy to install, took about an hour. Comes with paper you tape to the hood and use as a stencil. I used an xacto knife to etch the outline in to the hood and dremel to cut out. Used alot of WD-40 when I cut to make sure it doesn't chip at all. Came out great.

Haven't picked it up yet, but it's as good as mine.

Ideally, I'd like to have the VIS Slayer hood and paint that entire hood DG, but I can't justify paying $750 for a c/f hood that will be painted over. So I'm buying a used Seibon TS hood for $200 and I'm painting that.

Thanks, WhosUrBuddiee. I am aware that TS uses Aerocatch's pins and slaps their name on it to mark it up. They uses Ings+1 side/rear skirts for their non-widebody kit, too - lol. I've dealt with Intense Power before. Good experience. I guess I'll just buy from them unless I can find a local dealer. Thanks, again, for your reply.

I'd rather look old and be safe than have my hood fly up on me while I'm driving.

Remember your buddy, SIN35? Yeh, his hood flew open on him because the latch failed. And I'm buying a used hood, so I don't know the condition of the latch.

CoastFab is local (Huntington Beach) but they're a few dollars more than AeroCatch direct and you'll have to pay tax.

1 Seibon hood flying up is 1 too many for me. And there has be more than 1 case of Seibon hoods flying up on people. I'd rather not take my chances and fvck more **** up than I have to. I wouldn't run any carbon fiber/fiberglass hood without hood pins for an extended period of time.

I will be running this hood for a couple weeks without hood pins but only because the hood is in SD and I'm taking it up north to have the pins installed. If I could I would throw the hood in my trunk, then install the hood and hood pins at the same time. But I can't.

I got mine (back when I had them) from Intense. I didn't get the locking ones but I think I paid ~$75.
