Re: Fog/High beam bulb
Triji and xswl0931, the bulbs you bought are the same as any other generic "Superwhite" halogen bulb. They are regular halogen bulbs with a blue coating on the lens. Depending on the darkness of the blue coating, the light output will change, both the color and the lumens.
While those bulbs may give you a color that matches the factory HID, they are definately putting out less light on the road. If all you wanted was to have matching lights, then that's great. But if you were also expecting more performance as in more light output, you are actually getting much less. Therefore they aren't much of an "upgrade".
As for those gold/yellow bulbs posted before, they are super high watt. You risk blow-out or melting the wiring or housing. The reason why they are high watt is because the yellow coating on the bulb drastically reduces light output. Therefore, they up the wattage to try and minimize lost lumens.
Again, none of this matters if all you're looking for is to achieve a certain look or color.

If you're looking for an alternative product that is a performance upgrade as well, check out the Philips Vision Plus H4 bulb. It puts out more light than a regular halogen bulb, and it has a very light blue tint on the lens, making the light color slightly whiter, while still allowing plenty of light output on the road.
If you just want brighter light without any tint on the lens, check out the OSRAM SilverStar H4. It's advertised to put out 50% more light than regular halogen, and it won the AutoExpress independant bulb test.
You can find both bulbs on this site: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk
I just ordered the OSRAM SilverStar H4 myself, so I'll let you know how it performs when it gets here.
