Just saw this thread for the first time (usually I never look in this section). Great work, hopefuly the chroming turns out well.

This is sick! I want to do this but I don't want to accidently destroy my tail lights.

How do you think these will look in JDM taillights? I wonder if the fact that the outer turn signal housing is amber will "discolor" the LEDs compared to the inner housing, or maybe not? Just a thought.

If I recall it correctly the chrome plated inserts come back to you this week right? I hope it helps give out the perfect light output... This project has huge potential!

Im sure the LEDs in that area would glow orange instead of red with the JDM lights. Not really ideal.

Well I shipped them last week from WI to CA so it will be about a week with UPS, then prob a week, to do them, then another week shipped back with UPS.

They fit both, I did mock up on both style sets.

I'm anxious to see what kind of wiring is involved.

The chroming is on hold right now. Guess Im dealing with dumbsh;ts!

First email I sent them was a pic of what I needed to be plated and clearly stating the fact that they were made of Acetal. After 7 emails back and forth I asked what the turn around time is once they receive them, I also asked if they could plate other types of plastic ie; HDPE or UHMW. He replies back saying he can only do ABS. HELLO!!!! It didnt occur to you to tell me that after the first email when I clearly stated that they were made of Acetal??????

Seems like every sales dept Ive ever talked with or worked with are nothing but complete morons!

Anyways, the first set is sold and being shipped tomorrow!!!

Out of curiosity, what company is this? PM me if you don't want to say here. I was looking awhile back to get plastic chromed, and finally found a place in CA that said that they could do it. I ultimately went a different route, but I'm wondering if it's the same place.

Acetal is hard to plate with conventional methods but look into places using the dupont delrin system . Its made specifically for plating acetal . That place should have let you know right of the bat since they are supposed to be the professional . Idiots . They obviously dont know there trade since there are much easier plastics to plate then abs even .

Curious...has anyone considered NOT putting turn signals in the circular LEDs, and use the inner LEDs that was used for brakes/running lights as the turn signal?
