It all comes down to whether the owner/customer wants gloss finish or flat finish. If they want flat, would you rather spend $35 per emblem, then paint it and put it back on to get the same finish as it would cost you using plastidip for $5?
You can do a gloss finish if you want, using automotive clear like I do... you can't beat this DIY for around $5 and you can return back to chrome whenever you want.
I did this to my emblems prior to the accident. 2 stage gunmetal with lime green.
This was done for customers...
Only way you'll get those results is if you remove the emblem, buy new ones, paint them professionally and install them back on. That's $60 per emblem.
