Windshield Rust

I have an 03 coupe and the paint is starting to bubble/rust along the top edge of the windshield. I pulled out the rubber seal to inspect further as I was going to fix this myself. Turns out the rust is even lower, all along the channel where the windshield sits in. I also had a problem with water leaking in past the seal and then it would pool in there. Then when I turned to one side after a rain it would all drain into the inside of the car and run down along the pillar. I think I am going to have to get the windshield removed just to fix this rust before it gets any worse.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or did I just get a car where they did a **** poor job of laying down the window urethane???

Have you ever had the windshield replaced? ._.

But yes to fix it you'll need to remove the windshield and trim and remove the oxidation completely by sanding then re-prep the surface and respray. Have a professional certified windshield guy re-install the front glass.

To my knowledge, the windshield has never been out, doesn't appear to be after market, but I don't know I'm probably the 3rd owner. And its not a little bit of oxidation, its quite a bit. I have replaced windows before, but those were cars that I didn't car about. I will definitely be taking this to a professional as I just don't have the time/garage space.

Most windshield guys are mobile but you'll probably wana do this at a bodyshop and sand off the oxidation and respray
